Finally new journal. It’s been 2 years since my last journal entry. My laziness got the better of me.

My life now revolves around job search and studying for the Japanese Proficiency Exam, which I unwittingly applied for and now deeply regret. Took a look at the vocab list for the level one test today at Joe’s Japanese Proficiency Exam Page (www.thbz.org/kanjimots/jlpt-vo…) and realized that my Japanese teacher must have been drunk on madness to think that me taking this exam is a good idea. Now. I must memorize like 50 vocabs a day for the next 50 days to get through the list.

I tried out for the level two test last December, and it wasn’t that bad…except that this dude sitting beside me finished a good half hour before finishing time, and I wanted to pull my hair out with all the pressure of the clock ticking and the fact that I can’t go to the washroom for fear of being shot by the examiner with the evil eyes.

Anyway. I must start my job hunt now in between rewatching old Gilmore Girl episodes and thinking to myself why Jess(milo) is so pretty.

My grandma passed away today... I knew that she has been ill for many years and that she probably didn't have much time left, but when it does happen, I was still quite shakened up. My mother visted her 2 days ago, and she was still alive and well...but now she's suddenly gone... We didn't get along very well, but I was still sad because my grandpa was sad.

My father obviously didn't like her very much. When I told him the news today, the first thing he said was "So, did you guys buy sushi?".

Anyway, on a brighter note, I got a new cellphone recently and has been taking random photos like mad.
The christmas decorations downtown are so pretty.:heart::heart:

And~~! here's a pic of my son.. er I mean my doll. Made him new clothes and neglected my homework in the process. Fairly sure the teacher hates my guts... but life still goes on.
(the one on the right^^)

I watched a Clamp interview a few days ago on this Japanese Channel in Canada.

I think it was the first time Clamp agreed to do a public interview on TV. The TV crew went to their studio in Tokyo to shoot some footage. It was SUCH a beautiful studio!!! I always had the image of 4 desks pushed up together in one room with scrap paper and crap piled up high, but NO~~~~ it had a mini bar and everything!!! *_* They have a huge shelf with manga and information/reference books that they use for their mangas. Their actual work place is 4 adjoining rooms, each with a computer and light table and lots of storage space. Everything is designed in white so it looks very clean and pretty.:floating: Considering all this is located in Tokyo, the studio must have cost a fortune~~~>_< But then again, they sold more than 88 million copies of their manga, so money obviously isn't an issue.

Of course they didn't start off that way. They mentioned that in the beginning, they rented this tiny apartment as their studio. When they stayed there at night, one of them slept in the closet and one slept in the space under her table.

I think one interesting thing that was brought up in the interview is that the storywriter NEVER tells the main artist(Mokona Apapa) the story until the last minute. The storywriter(can't remember her name) says that its becuz if she did, the future events of the manga might show in Mokona's art; and therefore, the story will be less effective. I don't agree with this cuz most mangaka's write their own stories anyway;  whether or not they know the whole story beforehand is irrelevant to the overall effectiveness of the plot. The storywriter probably wants her storylines to be unpredictable, and she has succeeded since Clamp stories really CAN be very unpredictable. But whether or not that's a good thing is arguable. Sometimes I feel that the groundbreaking plot twists in Clamp mangas comes too suddenly. I don't think it's a bad thing to hint at the future events here and there in the course of a story(as long as the story doesn't become predictable). The readers may not understand these hints at first, but they all come together in the end.

But anyway, I've never been a huge fan of Clamp's stories...I've kept reading their mangas to drool over their kick ass artworks that always seems to be setting new standards in the industry~~:heart::floating: *_*

Do anyone know if the Shounen Jump artists ever showed their studios??? I'd LOVE to see photos( especially especially ESPECIALLy Obata Takeshi.. he's my idol:heart::floating:) Or!!!  Minekura Kazuya sensei*_*!!!!!!!!

Anyway ..... I was wondering if there is any good manga lately??? Haven't been reading anything except deathnote and FMA. Is D. Gray-man any good? I haven't really read the new shounen jump mangas.

Hi~~^_^

I finally got my cousin to sign up to DA~~ :iconannabell-y: She is the one who taught me how to draw. Being the strict woman that she is, she once forbid me to read ANY manga for a whole summer just so that I can focus on those damn still life drawings0___0...very painful experience...................But, I would never have gotten into Art College if it weren't for her.

She just started posting her pictures a few days ago(despite signing up for over a year). She is very new and very nervous. I would really really really appreciate it if you guys can..maybe stop by her page and give her some encouragements^___^ :floating:

She is currently an animation student at the Art Institute of Boston. One of the best and most picky artists ever.
